Popular Palm Springs-based cabaret singer Francesca Amari reprises one of her most popular shows, “SECRETLY SQUARE,” first performed at The Metropolitan Room in New York City in 2007. Now not so secret about it, her show is proudly titled “HIP to be SQUARE” and features guilty pleasure songs from such icons as Johnny Mathis, Neil Sedaka, The Carpenters, Captain & Tenille & more. With Broadway veteran Wayne Abravanel at the piano.
6 pm PT/8 pm CT/9 pm ET

“If Francesca Amari isn‘t a household name in your home, then you haven‘t yet discovered the best music, theatre and magic that Palm Springs has to offer."
~CV Weekly

"Amari is a sparkling package of perky precision and vocal dynamite who seems capable of nailing any type of song she tries." ~Elliot Zwiebach, CabaretScenes Magazine

‘SECRETLY SQUARE’ serves up a hot dish of music and humor with all the songs you love…or hate to admit you love! “ -TimeOut New York

The world has enjoyed a love affair with Carol Burnett for over fifty years. Her peerless, fearless character acting and delightful, self-effacing personality made her Lucille Ball’s rightful successor as the red-headed Queen of Television Comedy. Carol can do it all -- sing, dance, act, make you laugh [Insert Tarzan yell here], and break your heart. But it was the laughs that led her from hardship and poverty to becoming the shining star that audiences fell head over heels for (often while Carol was doing just that). Join us on Zoom for a stroll into that famous little circle of light as Hilary Ann Feldman guides your on a tour of Carol Burnett’s life and laughs. Joined by Chicago musical favorite Beckie Menzie (serving as musical director, pianist, and comic foil) they bring back some of the show‘s most beloved characters.Oh, and laughter is better shared (just ask Tim and Harvey), so be sure to bring a friend! You’ll be so glad we had this time together!

Working In Concert’s Bellissima Opera premieres "On Call: COVID-19." Librettist (and CCP member) Christine Steyer drew inspiration from 200 articles about healthcare workers facing the COVID-19 pandemic around the world.

From the moment the music begins with Gwendolyn Brown‘s opening aria as a Chicago nurse, you will lean in to this intimate story of medics striving to cope with the unknown and the unfair vestiges of the pandemic. The opera’s three scenes look in on a series of “Zoom” calls by medics from Chicago, Seoul, Rio de Janeiro, Lombardy, New York City, and a Syrian refugee camp near Beirut as they seek to support each other throughout the year, learning that compassion and kindness have healing powers as much as vaccines and ventilators.

The one-hour opera will be followed by an artist meet&greet, open to those who make an additional modest donation.

Learn more, see the promo video and purchase tickets at https://workinginconcert.org/covidopera. Tickets range from $20-$30, with $5 student tickets, discounts, and group rates available. Contact claudia@workinginconcert.org or call 773-509-9360.

Ticket purchasers can view on demand from April 18 through April 21.
