BECKIE MENZIE
singer, pianist

“You could swear she lived every moment of the song. Her voice is thick like a summer rain ... sumptuous playing.”
-- Justin Hayford, The Chicago Reader

“Menzie’s warm voice and unerring phrasing give dimension and vitality to music...in Menzie’s voice and trained fingers on piano, her music dances and aches with life.”
-- Deborah Sederberg, News Dispatch

“...delivers not only a beautifully solid vocal performance (we always knew she could sing) but also a well-grounded characterization. Her Bus From Amarillo is a truly touching moment.”
-- Marsha Fulmer, Elkhart Truth

“Beckie Menzie, Chicago’s ‘diva-in-demand,’ has released her long-awaited debut disc Heart & Soul, and it is a heartfelt and soulful musical experience.”
-- Gregg Shapiro, Boston Bay Windows

“...strong, smoky vocals, inventive keyboard playing and the rare ability to live a song, not just sing it.”
-- Bill Carlton, Fort Wayne News Sentinel
