MICHELLE GREENBERG
singer, pianist
Michelle began her career in Paris in an underground Cabaret, Le Chevalier du Temple where her gig went from 1-4 in the morning.
Singing for her supper "by night," she spent her days learning “to swing.” North Shore audiences have enjoyed her warm jazzy style at the North Shore Sheraton, Sweet Nan’s, and Evanston’s Kaffeehaus
(the 1800 Club). Chicagoans got to know Michelle when she performed Wednesdays at the Coq D’or Room in the Drake Hotel (2005-2006).
Michelle is now also building a career in venues where audiences come to appreciate the intimate art of Cabaret. Last year, Michelle attended the renowned Art of Song Interpretation Workshop at Perry-Mansfield in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where faculty member and Broadway leading lady Teri Ralston said of Michelle: “Lovely --wonderful musicality and a great sense of humor.”
Recent performances include:
- Counting Down the Standards, Chicago Cabaret Professionals’ Tenth Annual Gala held at the Park West.
- In My Goddess Years, presented at the Bailiwick Repertory Theatre’s First Cabaret Festival (March, 2008). Michelle’s performance received an enthusiastic review in Cabaret Scenes Magazine.
- Alright, Ok, You Win (and other New Year’s resolutions) at Evanston’s First Night Celebration (December 2007).
- My Kind of Town in Spring at Chicago WaterWorks (June 2007), sponsored by the Chicago Office of Tourism.
